Class Descriptions and Requirements

CREATIVE MOVEMENT: For ages 3-4, the basic concepts of dance are taught in an imaginative class environment that is play-based. Students will be introduced to the idea of patterns, levels in dancing, basic dance vocabulary, and rhythm.

Class Times: Tuesdays 4:00 - 4:40
Cost: $45 per month

PRE BALLET: For ages 4-5. Pre Ballet introduces young dancers to the idea of patterns, levels in dancing, basic dance vocabulary, and rhythm. Pre ballet is the perfect stepping stone between Creative Movement and Ballet 1. This class focuses on Ballet etiquette, basic positions, and has a more structured class environment similar to a Ballet 1 with the imaginative nature of Creative Movement.

Class Times: Saturdays 9:00 - 9:40
Cost: $45 per month

  • Designed for ages 5-7, this class introduces ballet class etiquette and structure. Concepts taught in Creative Movement/Pre Ballet will be expanded upon, and students will learn ballet vocabulary and start to put steps together in short combinations.

BALLET 1: Designed for ages 5-7, this class introduces ballet class etiquette and structure. Concepts taught in Creative Movement/Pre Ballet will be expanded upon, and students will learn ballet vocabulary and start to put steps together in short combinations.


Class Times: Thursdays 4:00 - 4:45 or Saturdays 9:45 - 10:30
Cost: $50 per month

BALLET 2: For ages 8-10. In this foundational ballet class, students will focus on placement, technique, and muscular development while expanding their vocabulary to include traditional class combinations.


Class Times: Thursdays 5:30 - 6:15 or Saturdays 10:30 - 11:15
Cost: $50 per month

BALLET 3: For ages 11+. This level is a comprehensive intermediate ballet program and students may remain in this level for several years. Students will develop a strong understanding of ballet technique, continuing to develop their musicality, strength, flexibility, and expand their vocabulary. Students who are ready to push themselves and grow their technique are invited to participate in Open Ballet, but are not required.

Class Times: Mondays 7:00 - 8:00
Cost: Ballet 3 - $65 per month (Ballet 3 + Open Ballet $80 per month )

BALLET 4: For ages 11+ by placement. Dancers who posses a strong understanding of ballet technique and are able to be consistent in their quality of movement may advance to Ballet 4. Dancers are required to attend multiple classes per week and are dedicated to the discipline of ballet. Students will continue to grow their vocabulary, flexibility, and hone their movements.

Students are required to attend at least 2 days per week. Classes are included in their total tuition cost. Options for additional classes are Open Ballet or Ballet 3 for conflicting schedules.

Class Times: Wednesdays 6:30 - 8:00
Cost: $80 per month

OPEN BALLET: For students in levels 3, 4, and 5. This full-length class is ideal for students who want to gain additional practice in their level and continue to work on barre and center work found in Ballet 3 and 4.

Students who are looking for an alternative time for Ballet 3 may take Open Ballet as a single-day class by request. Cost will be adjusted to $80 per month.

Class Times: Saturdays 11:15 - 12:45
Fall Cost: This class’ cost is included in students’ Level 3 or 4 tuition.

POINTE: Pointework is an extension of traditional ballet training that requires significant skill and strength. Students who have been dancing for several years and demonstrate the necessary abilities will be placed in a pre-pointe class by their instructor before beginning to dance on pointe.


Class Times: Wednesdays 8:00 - 8:45
Cost: $50 per month

JAZZ/TAP 1: (Ages 5-7) This class is half jazz, half tap and all the fun! Dancers will learn the basic steps and technique needed to begin their journey in jazz and tap. This class will focus on style and the beginnings of musicality using defined counts and rhythms. Jazz/Tap 1 is the perfect place to begin!

Class Times: Thursdays 4:45 - 5:30
Cost: $50 per month

TAP 2: (Ages 8-10) This is an intermediate level class for students to expand their musicality, balance, and timing. Dancers will practice simple combinations and basic steps, while learning new terminology. In addition, dancers will focus on strength and clarity in tap sounds.

Class Times: Thursdays 6:15-7:00
Cost: $50 per month

JAZZ 2: (Ages 8-10) In this intermediate class a strong emphasis on jazz technique, musicality, and muscular growth will be used as students experience jazz class. Students will expand their vocabulary and learn longer combinations.

Class Times: Wednesdays 4:45 - 5:30
Cost: $50 per month

TAP 3: (Ages 11+ with Tap 1 or 2 experience) This class is designed to challenge students with a focus in performance quality and expression. Dancers will learn advanced terminology, steps and combinations that will challenge them musically and rhythmically.


Class Times: Mondays 5:00 - 6:00
Cost: $65 per month

JAZZ 3: (Ages 11+ by placement) Dancers make the transition to a comprehensive intermediate/advanced level in this class as they begin a more rigorous training regimen. Students will develop a strong understanding of jazz technique, continuing to develop their musicality, strength, and flexibility, and expanding their vocabulary. Dancers will attend this level through instructor placement only and may remain in the level for several years.

Class Times: Wednesdays 5:30 - 6:30
Cost: $65 per month

MODERN B: (Ages 9+) Students will begin to explore the variety of movements found in the various techniques of modern dance. Fundamentals of the Graham and Taylor techniques will be introduced as students learn exercises that utilize floorwork, musicality, precision, and fluidity of movement. It is highly recommended that dancers attend at least one Ballet technique class in addition to modern.

Cost: $50 per month

MODERN A: (Ages 11+ by placement) Students will expand their understanding of modern dance as more complex aspects of the Graham and Taylor techniques are explored, and additional modern techniques are introduced. Dancers will learn longer combinations that challenge their ability to memorize choreography, control movements, and develop fluidity in this style of dance.

Class Times: Mondays 6:00 - 7:00
Cost: $50 per month

This popular and ever-evolving style of dance incorporates a mix of elements from genres of dance such as ballet, jazz, and modern. Students will learn technique, floorwork, musicality, and improvisational skills, as a strong emphasis is placed upon changes in rhythm, movement quality, and expressing oneself through dance.

CONTEMPORARY B: (Ages 9+)
Class Times: Mondays 4:00 - 5:00
Cost: $65 per month

CONTEMPORARY A: (Ages 11+ by placement)
Class Times: Thursdays 7:00 - 8:00
Cost: $65 per month

HIP HOP 2: (Ages 8-10) A class that is welcoming to all that wanna dance! You will learn choreography/combos and also various effects in dancing/performance. A great class for someone who has dance experience and also for someone if it is their first time! Learn a good structure in the style of hip hop.

Class Times: Tuesdays 5:00 - 5:45
Cost: $50 per month

HIP HOP DANCE CREW: (Ages 8+)
Learn what it's like to be on a traveling dance team! Students will learn choreography that will performed at a Lake County Captains Game at the end of the Summer Session. Students will gain knowledge in the art of performance and be able to advance their dance skills, all while being a part of a amazing team.


Class Times: Tuesdays 5:45 - 6:30
Cost: $50 per month

TEEN HIP HOP: (Ages 11+) A class that is open to all dancers who are looking for a challenge and interested in advancing their technique, choreography skills, and all around experience with hip hop.

Class Times: Tuesdays 6:30 - 7:15
Cost: $50 per month

ADULT HIP HOP: (Ages 18+) A fun class for all adults! No experience needed! Whether dance is something you always wanted to try or something you have done before, this is the class for you! You will learn combos and techniques involved with hip hop dance. Although this is not a fitness class, it can be a benefit to taking this class!

Class Times: Tuesdays 7:15 - 8:00
Cost: $12 per class

GEAUGA COUNTY ADULT DANCE TEAM: (For Ages 18+) Be part of our NEW Adult Dance Team. This amazing group is for adults who want to perform and be dedicated to learning new Hip Hop routines.

Company Class: (By placement auditions only)
By invitation, students may audition to be in the company class. Students will focus on strengthening their bodies, learning advanced techniques, and practicing new choreography. Styles taught in company may include - Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Modern. Additional performances are expected.


Class Times: Saturdays 12:45 - 2:00
